All day sails out on the ship are good ones, but this day proved to be a highlight of the season, as it was the ship’s Birthday, 28 years ago she was commission.
We had a full ship of well wishers eager to help celebrate this young lady of the sea. We turned on absolute great weather, dialled up the dolphins on que, and got most of the passengers actively climbing and hailing on the sails. While there was good pace on the decks, Heather & Jen pumped the food out of the galley while sporting great set of bunny ears each! There was touch of Easter celebrations on board too being the long week.
On this special day sail, we were all charmed by the Watts family clan! Liz’s parents gracing us with some great stories of Liz, we were entertained by her niece & nephew, and I think Heath (Liz’s brother) enjoyed the day climbing that he was ready to wear one of our harnesses home back to Tasmania!
We had a great breeze for all sails to go up and engines off, too much delight of all the crew. With plenty of sail to furl at the end of the day, we were able to have this done in great time to all have a rewarding time in the saloon after. It was lovely to see so many volunteers staying back to share moments of the day together over some food and drinks.
We had plenty of great compliments from the passengers and couple now interested in being volunteers with us. Thanks to all who were able to volunteer on this day sail. As they say….. volunteers rock! See you all on deck next time….Annie.
